Request for Proposal to Hire an Owner Growth Lead
1. Background information: The Grand Rapids Food Co-op has been growing its owners since 2016. We have reached 535 owners through tabling, yard signs, tabled events, house parties, newsletters, and social media and the web. Now we are ready to accelerate our owner growth to reach 800 owners in the next 6 months. After we reach this owner threshold, we can move on to selecting our site and beginning our community investment campaign to finance the buildout of the store.
2. Scope of work: We are looking to contract with an experienced person (An Owner Growth Lead) to develop and lead this next level growth campaign by activating our owners to recruit new owners. Our owners need the tools to communicate why and how to invite their friends and associates to join them as fellow co-op owners. The OG Lead will offer training sessions that are engaging and useful for our owners to be equipped with these tools and activated to bring in new owners. The OG Lead will monitor the results and modify as needed to keep up the growth momentum. The OG Lead will report back to Top Circle bi-weekly with plans and progress as the campaign progresses.
3. Selection criteria: The criteria to evaluate proposals will include past experience, methodology, cost of the bid, details about the training sessions, and any previous successes that are similar to this request. Co-op owners and non-owners are both encouraged to apply. The Top Circle will make their selection at our December 5th meeting and may invite those making proposals to attend to answer any questions.
4. Timeline: Proposals will be accepted until December 1, 2023. The work will begin in January, 2024 and conclude by the end of June, 2024.
5. Budget: We imagine this will take about 100 hours and cost from $2000-$4000.
